Alfred was a gentle man, he would come home and kiss you and ask you about your day. You knew when he was having a bad day, and you knew how to cheer him up. If he was having a bad week you would make his favorite foods. Oh, how he loved chicken pot-pie, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, apple pie. He was a regular salary-man, he would work day in and day out. But whenever he came home, he would make sure to at least smile at you, not a fake one, but a real one, at least once. Even if his day was going bad. You stayed at home; you had recently gotten laid-off from work. It was at a good time; well it was a good time in a way.
You started

When Japan was opened to the world the whole country experienced culture shock. They were introduced to a different perspective, a different way of life.
The notion wasn’t accepted by many. The thought of losing their culture made the people feel vulnerable to the widening amount of influences and watchful eyes that judge them. That made there reserved society restless.
Of the many that were affected were the large families that held wealth and power. With the changing economic power they had to find a way to keep their strong hold.
One family strived at keeping the power and wealth, whilst they kept family tradition intact. This fa

The night was illuminated by a haunting blaze. People were murmuring and shouting. I ran towards the crowd, they kept screaming; witch, damnation, sinner. My heart was aching, my head was weary. The people parted as I ran, when I got to the middle...the center of the crowd. I saw...I saw my beloved. She was tied to a stake, her eyes filled with fear. Her wrists were raw from trying to escape. The flames, the fire, consumed everything in it path. I stopped, I didn't know what to do. I couldn't do anything to save her it was to late. I grasped at my heart trying to keep it at bay. I looked at her eyes, she looked in so much pain. She looked at

You slowly walked through the cool sand on the beach. The salty wind brought a chill to your body. You hugged your sweater closer to your body. These days reminded you of the countless nights you spent alone. No one was at the beach at this time of day. It was a beautiful night with the reflection of the moon on the dark blue icy stare of the sea.As you steadily made your way through the beach you saw a brown haired little boy running through the water. His laughter brought joy to your heart; it reminded you of long ago. You paused, your smile fading with the illusion of the boy. You kept walking trying to get the memory out of your mind. As

You were looking for Ivan; you had come over to his house for your "Ivan Time". You've been really busy, and haven't seen him in a week. You had known Ivan for quite some time now, having been childhood friends. Recently your relationship with him had changed. You had started dating. At first it was awkward, always trying to escape Belarus's murderous rage, telling all the other countries of your relationship. But after a month of being together that mellowed out. However Ivan had been acting strange lately. He started distancing himself from you and that was worrying you. You went to Ivan's backyard, it was very big, and surrounded by the fo

Canada…he was always so quiet always melding into the crowd. You had never seen a man so…so…how can you put it. He wasn’t shy, he was very soft spoken. Yes, he was soft spoken. You usually observed his actions and how he would react to them. How his eyes showed comprehension, and a type of maturity. You’ve tried getting close to him but let’s say…you never truly could. You didn’t know how to approach him, or how to even start a conversation with him. You had a fear deep within your heart that he would reject you. Or that once you got to know each other you would find out that you didn’

You came home from your usual busy day. All you wanted to do was go home, relax, and spend some time with Arthur. But by the time you arrived home, your thoughts and feeling became so hopeless and saddening that you felt trapped by your mind. You needed to cry but well it had been quite some time since you had shed tears. It got to the point that you felt your heart became so cold that you forgot how to cry. But the funny thing was that your eyes did get watery and red when you got sad. Yet there were never tears. Tears that you wished could come to your eyes and help you wash away the sadness. Although you didn’t shed tears you still d

"Feliciano! Where are you hiding from me?!" you looked behind the window curtain. "Boo!" you shouted trying to scare him but to you shock he wasn't there. You then heard a noise coming from the broom closet next to the kitchen. You played it up; trying to trick him into thinking he was safe from your wrath.
"Felicianoo! Are you in the..." you made ruffling noises with the curtains.
You then shouted, "Feliciano I give up, but when I find you, you’ll be in great trouble mister!" You tipped-toed towards the broom closet, slowly and quietly you reached for the handle. Waiting for your prey to feel safe.
"Ve." you heard Feliciano let out

A Very Special Place
There is a very special place
Where we laugh once a day
So our heart doesn't give way
To the pain
Although we laugh to hide the pain
Sometimes our eyes show no gain
They flicker with light
But there is to much strain
But we laugh, laugh to hide our tears
We laugh to keep the embers clear
So our light can shine dimly
No one knows how simply
Laughing keeps us limply
Hanging onto life
There is a very special place
Were we laugh once a day
To keep our hearts from the rain
So the ice can melt away

As the cold air filled my lungs, everything seemed to stay still. The snow drifted slowly, as it reached the ground. Every tree was painted white and swayed with the wind. The crunching of my footsteps filled the silence. I stopped to take in the scenery, suddenly; a gust of wind engulfed me, making me close my eyes. When I opened them, the peaceful winter forest disappeared, and all that was left, were the faint taunts of the fires that consumed my home, my country, my life. I couldn't help but smile and laugh at myself, was this what I fought for. As I laughed at myself, I heard someone call my name; I looked to the direction of the sound.
